the story
pizza as we know it today was born in naples in 1889. made for princess margherita of savoia, it represented the colours of the then new italian flag (tricolore) with tomato, mozzarella and basil.
the ‘associazione verace pizza napoletana’ was formed by some of the oldest pizza families in naples in 1984 to protect and promote the traditional pizza napoletana.
we gained affiliation in 1999 as number 153 of the association, the very first in australia.
